Fishing Camp

Not enough time fishing? We heard your request and again

this year we will offer a week-long fishing camp. In cooperation with the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, this program is based on the national “"Hooked on Fishing not on Drugs" program. Campers learn angling skills, fish identification and biology, water quality and fish habitat. Using equipment generously donated by L.L. Bean, campers will try their hand at bait-fishing, spin-casting with lures, fly-tying and fly-fishing. While fishing during the week on Lake Christopher, campers will also have the opportunity to earn their Maine DIFW boating safety certification. Finally, a day-long guided fishing trip to test campers' new skills. Fishing camp also includes traditional camp activities such as swimming, hiking, wildlife and tree identification and much more!
