The Primitive Skills course is an introduction to the skills required for self-reliance "unplugged" from modern technology. Students gain confidence and experience in backcountry living and nature awareness. Activities include shelter building, primitive and modern fire building, backcountry cooking, identification and uses of wild plants, tool making, knife safety and carving, water purification, rope making, tree identification, nature observation, awareness, tracking, and silent stalking.
