Knox-Lincoln Extension Homemakers

Extension Homemakers meet around a tablePart of the long and proud history of University of Maine Cooperative Extension here in Knox and Lincoln Counties is our involvement with Extension Homemaker Groups. Knox- Lincoln Extension Homemakers believe in and practice life long learning.

Educational programs include

  • Cultural and creative arts programs, such as dried flowers, herbs, wildflowers, embroidery, quilting, clothing construction, and Maine cuisine
  • The Food Mood Link

  • Organically Grown Foods and New Labeling Laws that Regulate Them in the Market Place

  • Microwave Cooking for One or Two

  • Healthy Eating after 50 Years of Age

  • These Old Bones: Understanding and Preventing Osteoporosis

  • Cooking for a Healthy Heart

  • Adult and Family Relationships

  • Healthy Kids

Knox-Lincoln Extension Homemakers develop leadership and promote UMaine Extension's educational goals...

Extension Homemaker group members help to extend the resources of the University of Maine Cooperative Extension into their communities through educational opportunities and service projects. Our members continue to be interested in each other and in their local history. This helps bring the group together and as a result, they are learning more about each other's lives and unique ways to support each other.

Who may join?
Anyone who is interested in learning new information to improve their personal, family, and community life.

Why should I join?
By being a member of Extension Homemakers, you will have the opportunity to learn with others, make new friends, and contribute to your community, county, and state. You will gain additional leadership skills and be able to share your interests and talents with others.
