University of Maine Cooperative Extension Parenting Education is designed for parents, for all adults who care for or work with children, and for parenting educators. This site has two "halves." One is designed specifically with parents’ and caregivers’ needs in mind. The other "half" supports the teaching and professional needs of parenting educators.

For parents, caregivers and all adults who work with children, the National Extension Parent Education Model outlines essential practices that help children of all ages grow and thrive. Each page is linked to publications and other resources that invite life-long learning.

For parenting educators, the National Extension Parent Education Model is elaborated to include pertinent research that supports critical practices. This model is joined to the National Extension Parenting Educators Framework, which is a professional development scheme of critical education processes.
