Location: Maine Forest Service, Route 26 (Shaker Road) in Gray, Maine.

Date/Time: Five consecutive Tuesday evening sessions, starting Tuesday, April 21, 2009, 6:30 to 8:30 PM

Instructor: Richard J. Brzozowski, University of Maine Cooperative Extension

Cost per person: $12.00
Participants must be at least 13 years old; parents and employers are welcome to attend.

Course Manual: Participants will be using the tractor safety manual published by Pennsylvania State University.

Location: Union Farm Equipment, Route 17, Union, Maine

Date/Time: Four consecutive Wednesday evening sessions, starting Wednesday, April 8, 2009, 6:00 to 8:00 PM. Testing on Saturday, May 2, 2009, at 9:00 AM.

Instructor: Gary Balducci

Cost per person: $6.00 (covers book fee)
Participants must be at least 13 years old; parents and employers are welcome to attend.

Course Manual: Participants will be using the tractor safety manual published by Pennsylvania State University.

Waldo County

Location: Ingraham’s Equipment (intersection of Route 137 and 220), Knox, Maine

Date/Time: Begins April 14 and runs on consecutive Tuesdays for 5 weeks, 5:00 to 7:00 PM. A written and driving exam will be administered during the last class in May.

Cost per person: $20.00 (includes manual and some safety gear)
Although this class is designed for young adults, ages 14-16, who want to earn a federal certificate so they can operate farm machinery as part of their employment on a farm, adults and new farmers who want to learn how to drive tractors and operate implements are also welcome.

Course Manual: Participants will receive a manual and be expected to operate machinery during the class.
