Buffer Brigade

Tara Goodrich came on board through the Serve/Maine Volunteer Leaders program of the Maine Conservation Corps. Tara's mission: to create a group of college students who would work on lakefront properties, installing buffers and improving the landscapes for water quality protection. We are thrilled with the work Tara did over the summer on many of our Watershed Stewards Program lakes. Tara and her crew installed many lakefront buffers, and included some innovative techniques such as rain gardens in their landscapes.

A record of Tara's summer projects are available in PDF format. Contact the University of Maine Cooperative Extension Water Quality office at (207) 581-2953 or lwilson@umext.maine.edu if you are interested in receiving a copy.
