Water Education for Teachers and Students

University of Maine Cooperative Extension offers some limited education opportunities for both teachers and their students. Through Project WET (Water Education for Teachers), we train educators to use the WET curriculum. UMaine Extension's partnership with the Bangor Area StormWater Group (see Think Blue) enables us to offer classroom experiences for students annually in the communities of Bangor, Brewer, Old Town, Orono, Hampden, Milford, and Veazie. AmeriCorps Environmental Educators are available for 6 months of the year to visit these schools, help arrange community service activities, and get your group involved in the annual spring Stream Cleanup!
